The Silver Lining
A dark stormy night,
A young girl lays face down in the dirt,
Slowly soaking in the mud,
As wave upon wave of rainfall falls upon her.
She is barely breathing,
The bullies have cracked some ribs.
Internal bleeding has taken place,
Filling her slowly dying lungs.
A crack of lightening shatters the sky,
A voice could be heard,
But the young girl was hurting to much to move.
"You're going to die alone."
Her mind told her over,
And over again.
The voice was louder, it was male.
He tapped on her shoulder.
She barely moved her head,
Blood slowly dripping from her mouth.
The boy quickly called 9-1-1,
Hoping he wasn't to late.
A few months later,
She had made a full recovery,
The boy, never leaving her side.
They eventually started dating.
A few years later,
She married her hero.
Without him,
She wouldn't be here today.

Someone had asked me to write a poem, dealing with something ugly, fearsome, or cruel. But it must have a good ending, basically a Silver Lining in it. So this is what I came up with this.
It's a little deep, I know. I've been having a rough week, and apparently it shows. But to put this in a better perspective, it's basically about a girl who gets bullied to the point, they almost killed her. She is laying in the dirt, that is slowly turning to mud as the rain continues it's down pour. And a young boy comes to her rescue and they eventually get married.
